Club League Rules
- Triples matches will be 16 ends or 2 hours
Rinks matches will be 18 ends or 2 hours
Mixed Pairs league will be 18 ends or 2 hours - Matches must start on the ring of the control bell. When the control bell rings to end the game the jack must not be cast again, but may be set if already cast.
- Matches will be played on the date and time specified. Teams in default will be charged rink fees and their opponents awarded the points and 5 shots.

- League matches may be rearranged only in exceptional circumstances i.e. inclement weather, club dinners, funerals
- by mutual consent

- played on any date at any time mutually agreed betwen the respective team captains.
- the Manager/Fixtures Secretary to be informed of the rearranged time and date
- one player short will not be accepted, as a reason to rearrange
- Where a team has four or more players chosen to take part in a County game then the league match can be rearranged one week either side of the original match date. If the match is not played within the given time then the opposing team will claim the match.
- League matches may be rearranged only in exceptional circumstances i.e. inclement weather, club dinners, funerals
- In case of severe weather inform the opponents, manager and match secretary as soon as the decision not to travel has been made. Apply rule 4 as soon as possible.
- Promotion and relegation will be two up and two down or as determined by the committee.
- One scorecard will be provided for each match. The home team will mark the card which must be signed by both team and handed in by the winning team.
- If the jack is forced off the rink it will count as a played end.
- If the jack when cast fails to set a mark it will be set by the opposing skip and not returned to the mat. (NOT LADIES LEAGUE)
- Where two players play three players, the two players each bowl four bowls and deduct 25% of the shots from their final score. The lead may cast the jack but not play their bowl first.
- Where three players play four players, the first and second players bowl three bowls each and the third player bowls two bowls and deduct 25% of the shots from the final score. The lead may cast the jack and play the first bowl.
- Matches must start on the bell. A player may play in any position at any stage of the game with the exception of the rinks league, and the ladies league. A player arriving late can play only if he/ she is in time to play his/ her bowls legally in the first end.
- Team captains will be held responsible for the managing of their team. Ensuring their team players are registered and all due fees are paid. Unregistered players may not play in league games. (* except – see floaters rules) Players may register for one team only in one league. To register a player must contact the match secretary. Transfers may be allowed with the match secretary and bowls sub-committee approval.
- For a team to retain its status in the same division in any league for the following season at least three players must remain in the team. Otherwise the team must start in a lower division.
- Two points awarded for a win, one point for a draw.
- Dress: Greys with white above the waist – ladies must wear their club waistcoat on ladies league days.
- Players may not visit the head at any time of the game and must not follow any bowl up the rink.
- Players should not run on the green.
- During the last four weeks of each season (winter or summer) a team shall not use a floater or transfer or register a new player. Except in the mixed pairs league.
- Ladies League
These matches will be played to full E.I.B.A. rules i.e. – no changing positions, do not give a shot away on killed ends but replay the end. Jack to be recast if not legally set. Only the skip may visit the head and this shall be allowed only once on any end. Excessive firing shall continue to be disallowed.
- Bowls committee decisions are final in all bowling disputes.
- Mixed Pair League Rules
- Players will be allowed to pick their own substitutes from all the available members.
- Each pair will be allowed three substitutes throughout the year.
- Anyone acting as substitute will only be allowed to substitute twice for the same pair and then will not be allowed to substitute for anyone else in the same league or divisions of the same league.
- If the registered pair need a third substitute then someone else should be chosen, who will then be able to substitute once only, for another pair.
- If the registered pair find that more then their permitted three substitutes are needed, a letter should be sent to the committee for their consideration.
- EBF Triples League Rules
- Each player has two bowls
- Play 21 ends or 2 hours
- Mat has to be on the âTâ (2 metre mark) for the first end and then between the âTâ and 4 metres for all following ends
- No chalkers – all bowls in ditch are dead, even if they have touched the jack
- Jack in the ditch remains live
- Only bowls within 2 metres of the jack can be counted in final score
- All dead ends have to be played in same direction.
- Bowl or jack on the line is off.
- Illegal jack to be set not recast.
