Welcome to Louth & District Indoor Bowls Club
Louth & District Indoor
Bowls Club, situated in Birch Road, just a few minutes from the town centre,
approximately 500 playing members and offers excellent bowling and social facilities.
The club was built
and opened in 1990 and is one of the finest indoor bowling facilities in the
area, with an excellent five rink
green, restaurant, lounge bar and
viewing area. We are a mixed club, catering for all ages from 10 years
of age upwards and have facilities for all abilities. Whether you are looking
to take up the game of bowls,
or are an experienced bowler, we warmly welcome you to our club. We offer any
prospective member three
taster sessions to try before you think of joining us. Bowls is a highly
social activity which can be enjoyed
by everyone regardless of what level of skill they wish to aspire to. Some
members enjoy just casual play and
a drink with friends, some enjoy friendly matches against other clubs whilst
others compete in Club, County
and National Competitions. The choice is yours; there is a format to suit you
whatever your preference. Our
club is open all the year round and we offer a full and comprehensive bowls
programme in the winter
months, which includes social play, roll ups, internal leagues, club
competitions, county competitions, county
matches and for the more competitive bowler National Competitions.
The open day on Sunday 7th September
proved to be a great success, with over 40 people having a game under
the supervision of a coach. It was nice to see a good proportion of younger
people around, allaying the image
some people have of bowls only being a game for older people. Some people
made a social day of it, staying on
to talk to members about the club activities, browsing the large range of
bowls related merchandise being
displayed by Boston Bowls Supplies, or staying on for a light lunch or a full
While some people completed
membership applications on the day, others took the opportunity to book more
taster sessions before making a decision. Whether or not the club receives
more applications will probably not
be known for a few weeks, but everyone involved enjoyed the day and we can
feel satisfied that we achieved our
objective of promoting the game of indoor bowls.
Thanks must go to the
members who helped with organising the day & also helped with coaching.
